American RnB legend, Usher Raymond IV has announced he will be performing in Ghana this year.
The 8-time Grammy Award winner in a tweet said “I’ll be performing at the #GlobalCitizenFestival in Accra’s Black Star Square alongside activities & world leaders to empower women & girls, protect the planet, & create change on Sept. 24.”
Usher is known for hits like My Boo, Burn, U Remind Me, Confessions, Yeah, U Got It Bad, Confessions Part II, Love In This Club, Climax, There Goes My Baby, etc.
Ghanaian-British rapper, Stormzy, Nigerian Afro Pop star, Tems and Ghana’s Sarkodie and Stonebowy will all be performing on that day.
Gyakie and H.E.R will also be performing at the event.
This year’s Global Citizen Festival will take centre stage in two cities, New York and Accra. The aim of the event is to fight some of the world’s biggest issues.
While Usher will be performing in Ghana, Mariah Carey, Jonas Brothers, Metallica and others will be performing in New York.
