Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach, Abdul Karim Zito has described the current coach of the club, Kjetil Zachariassen as the worst coach he has ever seen coach the two times African Champions.
Zito, in an interview on Angel FM in Accra, said he does not see the Norwegian as a coach and also wants him to explain why he benched some key players in Kotoko’s game against San Pedro last Sunday.
“During my playing
time and as a coach, he is the worst coach Kotoko has ever hired.”
“I don’t see him, as a coach. He should come out and
explain to us why he benched certain key players in the San Pedro clash in
Abidjan.”
The Porcupine Warriors could not make it to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after losing to San Pedro 2-0 in Abidjan.
Zachariassen dropped five key players in a game in which a draw could have seen them progress to the Money Zone (group stage) of the competition.
Although it has not been made official, reports in the media indicate that Zachariassen has been sacked.
Since he became the coach of Kotoko, questions have been raised about if he qualifies to coach the club and has also been accused of collecting money from the players.
The fans, as well as, football pundits have questioned why the management of the club sacked C.K Akonnor and replaced him with Zachariassen who has no track record.
