Ashgold CEO, Fred Acheampong, has warned Kumasi Asante Kotoko to be mindful of their new coach Kjetil Zachariassen whom he said had double tongue.
He said the ex-Ashgold coach is not ‘a straight forward person’ and warn the Garden City club to watch him carefully and make sure they verify whatever he says because most of the things he told them before taking up the Ashgold job were lies.
“If you listen to him he is one person who tells a lot of stories (lies) so Kotoko must be very careful with what he would tell them”, he said during an interview with Asempa FM.
According to the CEO, the Norwegian claimed he had coached WAC during their earlier interrogations with the coach but when he contacted officials of the club they denied any knowledge of the coach.
“I didn’t know him, but before I came he had had a series of meetings with Champion (Dr Kweku Frimpong) and claimed he had coached WAC of Cote d’Ivoire and other things.
“Fortunately I once had the opportunity of working for CAF and worked during one of WAC’s matches and after the game the president of the club became my friend. So I called him to enquire about Zachariassen’s claim and he said he has never met him”, Acheampong said.
He added that the Coach had come into the country claiming to be a scout and later started demanding for money for his family so out of pity they decided to hand over management of the club to him in order for him to earn something.
“Initially he said was he was a scout who was here to scout for players to transfer abroad…. so I have had my doubt about him from day one”, the CEO said.
