The CEO of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, George Amoako has denied the report that Paa Kwesi Fabian left Kotoko because he planned to sack him.
Amoako in an interview on Fox FM said he never planned to sack Paa Kwesi and “up till now” he does not understand why he left his job.
“I did not sack Paa Kwesi.”
“Why would I sack Paa Kwesi?”
“He said he does not want to work with me again.”
“Up till now, I don’t know why he did that.”
Amoako revealed that he was the one who brought “to be part of the Kotoko family” when Ernst Middendorp (1999-2002) was the coach of Kotoko.
“Paa Kwesi was a Sports Master” at Osei Kyeretwie, he said, adding he told “Middendorp about him.”
“My relationship with Paa Kwesi is solid until I came back to Kotoko again.”
“I do not understand what made him think I was going to sack him.”
“It is not possible that I will ever think of sacking him.”
He emphasized that there is “absolutely no basis” why he would sack him and kept saying “up till now I do not understand” why he left Kotoko.
In September 2018, there were reports that Kotoko was going to sack Paa Kwesi Fabian from his position as the head coach of the club. Before he resigned from the club, it was reported that he had got a job in South Africa.
