After serving for over 30 years in the Ghana Police Service, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye has retired from the force at the age of 60. He was one of the most popular and respected senior police officers in the country, having led some of the most high-profile crime-fighting efforts in Ghana.
Prior to his retirement, COP Kofi Boakye served as the head of the Ghana Police Service’s Legal and Prosecution Division. His contributions to law enforcement were acknowledged during his send-off ceremony, where the Inspector General of Police, COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, was present.
Fondly referred to as “Commander One,” COP Kofi Boakye was credited with leading the arrest of notorious armed robber, Ataa Ayi, in 2005. He was also known for his strong views on various issues and his involvement in other notable arrests.
COP Kofi Boakye’s retirement marks the end of a distinguished career in the Ghana Police Service, and his contributions to the force will be remembered for years to come.
