Argentina could not break Iceland’s ice defence

 Argentina was today held to a one all draw against World Cup debutants, Iceland.

The South Americans were tipped to whitewash the Europeans but it turned out to be a different story.

Sergio Aguero opened the scoring with a fantastic goal in the first half. Four minutes later, the Icelanders equalised through Alfred Finnbogason.

In the second half, Messi had the opportunity to put Argentina in the lead but Halldorsson saved the penalty.

The Iceland goalkeeper who is also a part-time film-director dived correctly to save Messi’s poor taken penalty.

Argentina have to win against Nigeria and Crotia to stand a good chance of making it to the next round.
