Good day for Ronaldo, heartbreak for Egypt and Morocco

Day 2 of the World Cup produced eight goals with the game between Portugal and Spain producing six of them.

The first game of the day was between Egypt and Uruguay.

The two times World Champions, Uruguay won in the dying minutes of the game with a header from Jose Giminez.

Uruguay got the best chances in the game but the Egyptian goalkeeper was on top form today.

Salah could not play the game due to the injury he got in the Champions League Final when Liverpool played Real Madrid in Kiev.

The second game of the day was between Morocco and Iran.

In a game in which most people had written Iran off, Morocco could not convert the chances they got.

Just like the Uruguay and Egypt game, Abdul Bouhaddouz scored an own goal in the final minutes to win by a goal to nil.

Portugal vs Spain was the match of the day.

After Spain sacked their coach, all eyes were on Fernando Hierro to see what he will do.

Ronaldo opened the scoring through a penalty early in the game while Diego Costa equalised later on.

Ronaldo made it two after Spain’s De Gea failed to hold onto a shot from the current World best player.

Costa equalised again early in the second half and a superb volley from Nancho made it three for the 2010 World Cup winner.

With a few minutes to the end of the game, Cristiano Ronaldo made it three through an awe-inspiring free kick.

Both teams can qualify for the next round if they both beat Morocco and Iran in their next games.
