Ghana Premier League powerhouse Hearts of Oak has relocated its home games to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium due to the temporary closure of the Accra Sports Stadium. This relocation affects the highly anticipated Super Clash against Asante Kotoko SC, originally scheduled for Accra on Sunday, December 10, which will now take place in Kumasi.
The closure of the Accra Sports Stadium is attributed to its rental for Christmas concerts and other events. The Ghana Football Association officially confirmed Hearts of Oak’s decision last Friday.
Currently sitting in 7th place on the league table with 16 points, Hearts recently parted ways with coach Martinus Koopman. Assistant Abdul Rahim Bashiru has taken temporary charge until a permanent appointment is made.
Hearts of Oak faces a challenging fixture against league leaders Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa Ahenkro. The Phobians suffered an embarrassing elimination from the FA Cup in the midweek, losing on penalties to lower-tier Nania FC.
