The CEO of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, George Amoako has praised Sogne Yacouba for his talent and how hard he is training stronger to make a great comeback.
During and after the Normalization Committee’s Special Competition, there were reports of Sogne Yacouba departure from the club. Yacouba was linked to a move to Al Hilal and other clubs outside Africa, however, the move did not happen.
Amoako at a press conference in Kumasi said: “Yacouba or no Yacouba, Kotoko is Kotoko.”
Now the two men have settled their differences and Amoako has explained why he made those comments.
“I said what I had to say at the time of the unfortunate incident but deep in my heart I don’t have anything against him (Yacouba), and I want our supporters to be aware that I don’t hate the player or whatsoever but when your topmost asset is destabilizing things with his actions and inactions in your team you’ve got to say something to motivate the other ones to know and realize that they can do the job without him, so at that point in time I had to say what I had to say to make things stable in the club. But my heart is clean and I have a good relationship with him now so no supporter should think that I hate him, never, ” he said on Fox FM in Kumasi.
“He’s one of the most talented footballers in the club now and he’s training very hard to make his comeback stronger and that’s all we all want from him,” the Daily Mail Gh reports.
“We’re all hoping he turns up in a good form when we host our Ivorian opponents San Pedro in Kumasi to secure a vital home win before the second leg in Abidjan,” he added.
