Brazil’s defender Danilo has been ruled out of the rest of the World Cup matches. The Manchester city defender sustaining an ankle ligament injury while training on Thursday.
The extent of the injury is not known but it is expected to take weeks for him to get well.
“Danilo suffered a left ankle injury and will not have time to recover until the end of the cup,” the CBF said in a statement.

“In conversation with the commission, he will remain with the team in Russia. We cheer for your recovery”, the Brazilian Football Association said last night.

Danilo has played only one match in the tournament and because Dani Alves got injured in May, Corinthians’ Fagner will now play the right back position.
