The former district engineer for Atwima-Mponua, Abbas Mohammed is accusing the DCE, Williams Yaw Darko of doing galamsey.
Abbas Mohammed has been transferred from Atwima-Mponua in the Ashanti Region to the Northern Region and according to Abbas Mohammed, the DCE made authorities transfer him after he complained about his involvement in galamsey.
“If the DCE does not support galamsey, no one can do it in an area,” Abbas told ABN in Kumasi.
“Everyone in the area knows he is into it.”
Abbas Mohammed also stated that the DCE is fighting galamsey “discriminatory”.
The DCE, Williams Yaw Darko denied the accusations levelled against him.
He also accused the District Engineer of fighting with some people for bringing down an NDC billboard in the presence of Ministers of State.
