The National Youth Authority has indicated that the government is going to build ten resources centres in each region to help fight tramadol and other drug abuse.
The head of National Youth Authority, Emmanuel Assigri, told reporters that have noticed most parents do not get time to be with their children and as a result, their kids find comfort in getting advice from their friends.
The youth centres he said, will have guidance and counselling centres and other programs so as to save the youth from indulging in social vices.
Moreover, he indicated his office has already started a program called the Youth Parliament which gives the youth the chance to discuss national issues.
Also, he indicated they will go on a nationwide tour to help educate and also get more youth involved in all that they will do.
Currently, the abuse of the drug Tramadol has become a big issue in the country.
Though health experts have warned the youth against the abuse of the drug, some of the youth have turned a death ear to the warning and have kept abusing the drug.
According to reports, the young men who abuse the drug buy it from unknown sources and also at over the counter pharmacies. They then put the drug into energy and shake it till the drug mix with the drug, after which they drink it.
This combination has led to the death of a lot of young men but all attempts to stop its use has been proven futile.
