The contract between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Sogne Yacouba will end today, April 2, 2020.
The Burkinabe striker signed the one-year contract last year but has refused to renew it as the club has refused to meet his demands.
The Executive Chairman of the club, Dr Kwame Kyei told the fans of the club that Yacouba is demanding for $150, 000 a year but the club will not be able to give him that money.
Later, it was reported that the supporters’ Chairman of Kotoko, Chris Damenya has been able to convince Yacouba and his agents to accept $100, 000. The two parties agreed that the club will pay part of the money and the fans will also pay the rest.
According to Yacouba’s agents, they have not heard from Damenya again and they do not know why he has not called them again.
Also, Yacouba’s team wants the Chairman of Kotoko to say that he wants Yacouba to play for the club again before he would sign a new contract but Dr Kyei has not changed his mind.
The Post understands that Yacouba’s team will decide on the way forward for the player after today.
